GETTING STARTED..............

Well I guess the phrase "getting started" could mean many things and in my life right now is a theme. First of all I am finally getting in touch with the world of cyber space. I had no clue about all of this blogging until some friends of mine opened my eyes to more ways of communication in which I am ever so grateful. So maybe I should start from the beginning of the "Hackmans."

Preface:
Guy meets girl, girl seems interested in guy. Girl and guy spend some time together. Then guy REALLY likes girl.... (Its the sparkling personality I'm sure :-)) Guy asks girl to marry him in summer 07 at Kings Island Amusement Park (how romantic). And from there the story begins.......................

Chapter 1
Andy and Kristen were married on September 14, 2007 at a lovely church on Charlestons east end. It was a large wedding with all of our family and friends in attendance. Kristen amazingly made it through without crying. After the wedding the Hackmans consisted of 3: Andy, Kristen, and Ethan (Andys son from a precious marriage) Oh and lets not forget the family dog a black lab named Nuke. Then the tornado hit in mid October when andy and Kristen found out that they would be having a baby at the end of June/July. Kristen cried of course and Andy claims he knew it all along. The next 9 months were a total blur of nausea, mood swings, cleaning sprees, crying, and hunger pangs. And I'm sure there were more symptoms but I will just name a few. In April 2008 with Kristen 7 months pregnant the family decided to move to a newer home in South Charleston. The kicker to this house is there is no driveway only 30 stairs to the front door. How grateful was I that I was "prego" on moving day!!!! Once we got settled in to the house Kristen set sail on the "nesting" getting everything ready for the baby's arrival......................

Chapter 2
On June 24, 2007 Kristen was scheduled to report to Womens and Childrens Hospital to have her labor induced. I wasn't dialating so they thought it was time for the induction. Talk about scared..... I had my father and my Uncle Mark Atkinson come and give me a blessing that all would go well. That night Andy and I had the most uncomfortable night of sleep due to anxiety, a little bit of worry, and a whole lot of excitement. They induced me at 6 am on June 25, 2007 and by 5:09 pm Kayden Alexander Hackman was born. All 9 lbs and 22 inches of him. He was perfect. And yes it was definitely love at first sight.................

Chapter3
Now that we are more up to date we can start on the fun stuff. Andy is hopefully getting a job at Dupont so he will have better hours. Because as of now I spend time with him maybe twice a week. Though he is working extra hard for our family. He hauls a gasoline tanker and fills up gas stations and convenience stores. Andy likes to play basketball, play poker, hang out with his friends and of course his family and Andy loves Mountaineer Football....... Kristen is back at work teaching dance and running her dance studio, Dance Underground. Luckily where she works in the evening she hasnt had to put Kayden into daycare. Kristen enjoys her family, eating out, and spending time with friends........ Ethan is in the 1st grade at Montrose Elementary and is doing very well. He is such a smart boy and a tad bit rambunctious. Ethan loves to play with his baby brother, he loves to help us, play video games and play with his webkins on the computer............. Kayden is now a little over 3 months old and I cant believe how big he is and how much he has changed since a newborn. Kayden is smiling and laughing and trying to talk to all of us (though it sounds more like a wildcat call). Kayden loves spending time with his mommy, and absolutely adores his daddy. Kayden also loves spending time with all of his many grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins......... We have a very large extended family. Kayden and I have been getting into activities....... He's never to young to learn to socialize..... So we go to playgroup every Friday, Kayden enjoys this I think, and mommy probably enjoys it more at this point!!!! So big thanks to all of the friends that we have made through this fun endeavor.............
